Berman & Simmons to represent family of woman killed by driver in Saco, Maine

The family of Jewell Friedman, the Saco woman killed by a hit-and-run driver earlier this summer, has been in contact with the Berman & Simmons law firm to represent them in any civil actions arising from Mrs’ Friedman’s death.

The Portland Press Herald reported on this story, and quoted Berman & Simmons attorney Steven Silin, in today’s newspaper.

According to the Portland Press Herald, witnesses saw a pickup truck strike Mrs. Friedman after another vehicle had stopped to allow her and her dog, Selina, to cross Ferry Road on June 21. She was only a few minutes from her home at the time. She died of her injuries three weeks later. A 45-year-old Saco man, Leo Bedard, has been indicted on criminal charges.

“No lawsuits or notices of claim have yet been filed, but are anticipated. No final decisions can be made on specific actions to be brought until the probate process has been completed,” Silin told the Press Herald.

“The family has suffered a tragic loss. Our firm will be taking every step necessary to protect their rights and interests throughout this process.”
