Meet Attorney Sarah Hall
Research & Writing Attorney Sarah Hall enjoys the challenge of building compelling cases from the ground up through meticulous analysis of the facts and applicable law. She approaches each case like a puzzle and believes that with care and creativity, the evidence can be pieced together to present a complete picture to the jury. Sarah is a key member of the Berman & Simmons medical malpractice team where she applies her expertise and intellectual curiosity to evidence gathering and case construction in complex medical negligence cases.
Sarah recognizes that medical malpractice cases are incredibly complicated but often a small detail or fragment of the story can change the trajectory of the entire case. Most law firms don’t have the resources to ferret out those seemingly incidental facts. Berman & Simmons is widely recognized as having unmatched financial resources and the most talented trial lawyers in Maine to take cases to the next level. As part of this distinguished team, Sarah crafts legal strategies to advocate for clients whose lives have been turned upside down because of avoidable and often life-changing medical mistakes.
Sarah sees her role as a medical malpractice attorney to be multi-faceted – a mix of compassionate listener, jargon translator, legal expert, and trusted ally. She is skilled at anticipating and evaluating complex legal issues while supporting her clients’ needs. Often after serious injury, clients seek a sounding board to help them process what happened to them. Sarah listens to what they have to say, answers their questions, and provides support to find the best path forward. She lends expertise at different points in case development, from reviewing initial medical records and researching legal issues to drafting discovery requests, motions, briefs, or mediation statements.
As an accomplished and well-respected research attorney, Sarah has served as both a plaintiff’s attorney and defense attorney, adding unique experience and insight to the Berman & Simmons team. With a 20+ year legal career that has spanned small firms and private practice, she brings a strong foundation in case management, litigation support, and client advocacy to her role. In addition, Sarah is an experienced appellate advocate who has briefed numerous appeals in the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
Sarah is an honors graduate of Wesleyan University and earned her law degree from the University of Maine School of Law.
