Attorney Susan Faunce Moderates Panel on Succession Planning at MSBA “Maine Law, Business & Society Summit”
Berman & Simmons Attorney Susan Faunce was tapped for her legal expertise to serve among the faculty for the Maine State Bar Association’s Maine Law, Business & Society Summit, an educational event convening for the legal community. The event is being held Jan. 24 – 26 at the Westin Harborview Hotel in Portland.
With a theme addressing the issues that keep business leaders up at night, Susan is moderating the panel, “Succession: Business.” Attendees will address the importance of planning ahead for business owners, exit strategies such as intergenerational family business plans, employee stock options pools (ESOPS), and selling the business.
Working in partnership with the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce for the first time, the three-day learning conference is designed for Maine’s lawyers and business leaders to come together to discuss a wide array of issues, identify ways to collaborate for Maine’s future, and network.
Since 2006, Attorney Faunce has worked with Berman & Simmons to represent clients throughout Maine with their personal injury and medical malpractice cases. She also leads the firm’s Mass Tort practice.
Susan is broadly active in Maine’s legal community, having served in leadership roles at the Maine State Bar Association and Maine Trial Lawyers Association. In addition, she serves on the Local Rules Advisory Committee of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine and The Maine Justice Foundation; she was appointed to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Evidence in 2023. Susan is also a member of the American Association for Justice, as well as the National Mass Tort Trial Lawyers Association.
