Attorney Daniel Kagan Presents at Brain Injury Association of America Conference
Berman & Simmons trial attorney Daniel G. Kagan was a recent presenter at Defining Moments in Brain Injury, an October 2020 virtual conference produced by the Maine chapter of the Brain Injury Association of America. Kagan partnered with Jeffrey Barkin, MD, a Portland-based forensic and clinical psychiatrist, for a session titled “When the Lawyer Calls: Advocating for Your Patient.”
Kagan and Barkin focused their discussion on how brain injury professionals can share their specialized expertise in a legal setting, particularly in the aftermath of a brain injury that resulted from negligence. This includes counsel on explaining diagnoses and a patient’s need for specialized treatment.
The Brain Injury Association of America is the country’s oldest and largest nationwide brain injury advocacy organization. As one of Maine’s leading trial lawyers, attorney Kagan has a record of jury verdicts and settlements representing clients in complex personal injury cases, including brain trauma.
