Attorney Susan Faunce Appointed to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Evidence

Attorney Susan Faunce has recently been appointed by Maine Chief Justice Valerie Stanfill to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court Advisory Committee on the Rules of Evidence. Susan will serve a 3-year term until September 2026.

The Advisory Committee recommends improvements and amendments to the Maine Rules of Evidence to ensure the Rules sufficiently comply with constitutional requirements and maintain procedural efficiency but do not infringe upon the substantive rights of any litigant.

Since 2006, Susan has worked with Berman & Simmons to represent clients throughout Maine with their personal injury and medical malpractice cases. She also leads the firm’s Mass Tort practice.

Susan is broadly active in Maine’s legal advocacy, serving in leadership roles of the Maine State Bar Association and Maine Trial Lawyers Association. In addition, she serves on the Local Rules Advisory Committee of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine and The Maine Justice Foundation. Susan is also a member of the American Association for Justice, as well as the National Mass Tort Trial Lawyers Association.
