Attorney Yoo joins YWCA Central Maine board of directors

Esther S. Yoo of Falmouth, an attorney at the Berman & Simmons law firm, has joined the board of directors of the YWCA Central Maine.

The YWCA Central Maine serves the Lewiston-Auburn community by providing childcare, aquatics, empowerment programming for women and girls, social justice events, and advocacy around issues of racial and gender justice, according to the organization.

Attorney Yoo represents plaintiffs in personal injury cases. She also works with senior attorneys at the firm, drafting motions and conducting research in complex disputes. Prior to joining Berman & Simmons in 2016, she was an attorney for a large law firm in Portland, where she handled civil litigation matters.

Yoo earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from Harvard University. Prior to law school, she served in the AmeriCorps VISTA national service program. She earned her law degree at the UCLA School of Law, where she was an editor of the UCLA Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif.
