Our history
Since young Benjamin Berman moved to Lewiston in 1914 after graduating from Boston University Law School, Berman & Simmons has been representing the people of Maine.
Soon after the firm opened, Benjamin's brother, David, joined and the two quickly established a reputation for fierce defense of their clients' rights. Known for representing mill workers in the area, the Berman brothers applied their skill and dedication to serve all the needs of their clients.
During the course of their work, Benjamin and David also established a reputation for representing clients in controversial cases that other firms refused. Today, Berman & Simmons proudly continues that tradition. As a law firm, we're dedicated to defending all people who need help by representing the injured and aggressively protecting the rights of individuals, organizations and small businesses.
