Bill has established a formidable reputation as a trial lawyer throughout Maine. Over the course of his career, his cases have broken new ground in promoting the causes of the injured whether for physical or economic injuries. His practice spans the areas of personal injury, professional malpractice, and complex litigation. He is well known in his role as a teacher and frequent speaker in litigation-related seminars.
 
Bill is a frequent participant and moderator at Maine State Bar Association seminars. His topics are typically in the area of litigation and include such issues as evidence, deposition taking, trial tactics, openings and closings, and medical malpractice. He has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maine Law School. He is currently President of the Maine State Bar Association and Vice President of the New England Bar Association.
